One last thing...
This actually tells the story in 50 seconds of main action. I am not counting the credits as they can get taken out or left to a frame.
There is 10 seconds to spare for cutting down the start within, but that is also titles so it is just 'extra' you could say, despite being an fairly important storytelling scene.
It's good to just pick out the main parts that tell the story and only use that, seen as with the time we had and the models we made, we were able to use them easily and stretch out scenes. But, I did the animatic and knew the way the story was told, so any unnecessary storytelling bits, but nice scenes, that weren't needed are cut out for this 1 minute version (or actually 1 minute 10 of animation).
Hopefully it flows alright, but I may do another one later.
I used the fish as a transition just as they cover the screen because I think that's what they serve best as, as they pass the background hopefully just suddenly changes, helping it move on and cut bits out selectively. It is jumpy and the speeds vary, but hopefully it builds suspense, but a little time-remapping may work for making the searching of the ship less jumpy until the monster fully jumps out like the 6 minute version...
